What’s Possible? New. Different. Better. Let’s find out together.

ABOUT ME

The Chill Counselor

I’m Cori, a therapist, supervisor, and the visionary behind Chill Counseling. I believe therapy works best when you can show up as your whole self: complicated, brilliant, overwhelmed, funny, uncertain and still figuring some things out. My approach is honest, curious, collaborative, and grounded in the question I keep coming back to: What’s possible? You may not have the answer to that…yet. We will discover it together.

Progression, Not Perfection

MY FAVORITE WAYS TO CHILL

Outside the therapy room, you can usually find me...

  • Spending time with family and friends
  • Dancing (one of my favorite types of therapy!)
  • Winning at game night 😉
  • Checking out a restaurant or TV show a client recommended
  • Traveling and adventuring
  • Singing off-key
  • With my dog, Charcuterie (“Char”)
  • Changing my hairstyle…again

Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Affirming support for attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, time management, and self-understanding—without treating the way your brain works as a character flaw.

Couples & Relationship Counseling

Therapy for partners who want to improve communication, repair trust, navigate conflict, deepen intimacy, or make intentional decisions about their relationship’s future.

Family of Origin & Generational Patterns

Explore how family roles, inherited beliefs, cultural expectations, attachment experiences, and generational patterns continue to shape your identity, boundaries, and relationships.

Perfectionism

Explore the pressure to perform, avoid mistakes, stay in control, or earn your worth while building more flexible standards, self-trust, and room to be fully human.

Trauma & PTSD

Trauma-informed support for triggers, avoidance, hypervigilance, shame, disconnection, and nervous-system responses, with attention to safety, pacing, choice, and rebuilding trust in yourself.

How I Can Support You

CLINICAL AREAS I OFTEN SUPPORT

I MAY BE AN ESPECIALLY GOOD FIT FOR

01Couples and families having the same fights again and againRead whyClose

Couples and families who have built full, successful lives but keep having the same arguments, missing each other’s meaning, or wondering how home became the place where everyone feels most misunderstood.

TRAINING + PREPARATION

I’m trained and licensed as a marriage and family therapist, with additional training in Gottman Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy with African-American couples, and advanced sex therapy.

EXPERIENCE

I work with couples, families, and other relationships navigating repeated conflict, communication breakdowns, disconnection, attachment concerns, parent-and-adult-child conflict, and changing family roles. I help people understand what is happening between them instead of deciding that one person is “the problem.”

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS TO ME

Our closest relationships shape what we believe about love, safety, and ourselves. I love helping people uncover the pattern beneath the argument, repair what has been hurt, and find their way back to communication, connection, and care.

02Girls, women, and BIPOC people who think, feel, and learn differentlyRead whyClose

Gifted and neurodivergent girls, women, and BIPOC folks who look capable on the outside but are exhausted by masking, overthinking, perfectionism, and the pressure to prove they are not “too much” or “not enough.”

TRAINING + PREPARATION

I’m an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and completed four months of focused training in the diagnostic assessment of ADHD and autism. My preparation also includes multicultural therapy, liberation-focused healing, and Dr. Stephen Kniffley’s Racial Trauma Therapy Model.

EXPERIENCE

My clinical work includes ADHD, autism and neurodivergence, giftedness, anxiety, perfectionism, identity development, and racial trauma. I understand how intelligence, achievement, masking, and cultural expectations can hide overwhelming feelings below the surface (and why girls, women, and BIPOC clients are so often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or identified as neurodivrgent later in life).

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS TO ME

I care deeply about creating space for people who have been called (even by themselves) lazy, difficult, overly sensitive, or dramatic. You deserve support that helps you understand how your mind works, honor what you need, and build a life that requires less performing and more enjoyment.

03People who are tired of being called strong and are struggling to hold everything togetherRead whyClose

People who learned to survive by being strong, useful, successful, or in control and are ready to stop living like the next hard thing is always just around the corner.

THERAPIST FOR QUALIFICATIONS 3

TRAINING + PREPARATION

I’m a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with training in EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy, racial trauma treatment, grief and loss, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention.

EXPERIENCE

I work with people whose trauma may show up as anxiety, perfectionism, overachievement, caretaking, relationship difficulties, emotional disconnection, or always needing to stay in control. My approach combines evidence-based trauma treatment with cultural awareness, creativity, honesty, and care.

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS TO ME

I’m passionate about helping people who have become very good at surviving discover what else may be possible. That can mean processing painful experiences, breaking generational cycles, rebuilding trust in yourself and others, and making room for a life that feels safer, fuller, and more connected.

MY APPROACH

Honest. Curious. Collaborative.

I draw from narrative, relational, trauma-focused, and culturally responsive approaches, but I don’t believe therapy should feel one-size-fits-all. That means I’m bringing my training and tools, but most importantly, I’m bringing my compassion and curiosity so we can do what works FOR YOU. Some days we may unpack where a belief began. Other days we might process trauma, practice a difficult conversation, learn a new skill, or solve something happening right now. I bring genuine care, a sense of humor, and a deep commitment to help you set and meet goals.
